Third Wave approaches in psychology and psychotherapy are grounded in contextual behavioural science, and take a process oriented perspective on suffering, emphasizing cultivation of psychological flexibility and de-identification of one's self from symptoms concomitant with a re-orientation towards processes that build vitality and committed actions towards values-based living.
